Nonprofit professionalsGO LEAD: Professional Development for the Nonprofit Sector

The GO LEAD professional development series provides the training necessary to be at the top of your game – whether you are an executive director, board member, or a staff member new to the work of nonprofit organizations.

GO LEAD offers four specialized series of workshops designed to fit your needs:

The Nuts & Bolts of Nonprofit Management is a series of workshops focused on the essential management practices of operating a nonprofit organization. The focus of this series is on practical, applicable information about best practices for daily operations. This workshop series consists of eight half-day sessions.

The Nonprofit Leadership in the 21st Century series of workshops builds upon the foundations established in the Nuts & Bolts of Nonprofit Management series, with a focus on what nonprofit leaders need to know to position their organizations effectively for the future. Special attention will be paid to key management issues and future trends. This workshop series consists of eight half-day sessions.

The Early Career Development Series targets professionals in entry to mid level positions, as well as those interested in deepening their understanding of how nonprofit organizations work. Participants will come away with a better understanding of the larger role nonprofit organizations play in society, an overview of organizational operations, volunteer management and supervising basics, asset mapping, mentor development, and much more. This workshop series consists of five half-day sessions.

The Board Development Series explores the management, governance, and leadership of nonprofit organizations from the unique perspective of a member of the board of directors. This workshop series consists of three two-hour sessions.

Curriculum
The curriculum for all workshop series will include topics essential to the management and governance of nonprofit organizations. Specific topics for each workshop series will vary according to the nature of the workshop series.

Nonprofit Management Certificate
A series specific nonprofit management certificate from Missouri State University will be awarded to individuals completing the selected workshop series. To be eligible to receive a certificate, participants may not miss more than one session in the series.

Registration for each workshop series is limited. Please call (417) 836-4711 for more information.
